We collected some pretty impressive numbers during our Diamondback Give Back campaign.  Check us out!

Diamondback Give Back

"When it comes to collecting huge amounts of food for families in need, nobody does it like the students at Fort Herriman Middle. In a short eight-day collection campaign, the student body rallied and brought in enough food to fill 17 large pallets, an estimated 20,000 pounds. The Utah Food Bank says it is the single largest contribution by a school in the Food Bank’s history, rivaling or beating contributions made by many big business. They also said that each pound of food equates to $2 in donation; an amazing $40,000 donation from the students. Wow! We are proud of Fort Herriman for making a difference in the lives of others this holiday season."

Last Monday, we started our annual 10 day Holiday donations program: Diamondback Give Back.  We are collecting money and canned food for local families and charities this Holiday Season.  As a school community we are doing our best to "give back" to those in our local community.  We only have 2 more days to reach our school goal!  Dig deep and feel the love!!

Dear Parents and Students,

On Thursday, October 31, 2013, students will be allowed to dress for Halloween. Students are allowed to wear costumes, but must be in compliance with current dress code rules, e.g. clothing shall cover the midriff, underwear, back and cleavage at all times. Skirts, shorts, dresses etc., must be at mid-thigh when the student is seated. Leggings are allowed only if the top worn is long enough to cover the student modestly. Tank tops, low cut tops and spaghetti straps will not be permitted. Straps must be at least 3 inches in width. Masks and full-face paint will not be allowed, as we need to be able to determine who the student is. Weapons and facsimiles of weapons are not permitted. Also, costumes must be free of any reference to drugs or alcohol.

Students will be allowed to have temporary hair color; however, the hairy dye will need to be completely removed by the student's retrun to school on Monday, November 4.

Students who are not in compliance with the established dress code will be asked to change. If they are unable to change, they will be asked to return home to change or go home. If you have any questions, please contact the FHMS administration at (801) 412-2450.

Also, please note that we will have a Halloween dance after school on Thursday, October 31 that will end at 3:45pm.

Thank You!
Fort Herriman Administration

Performances of FHMS's musical production, "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown," are this week!  Come to see Charlie Brown, Lucy, Snoopy and the rest of the gang this Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings, May 1st through 3rd.  Performances will begin at 6:00 pm in the auditorium.  Come early to get a good seat and bring all your friends (it's free!).

CONGRATULATIONS!!  We had almost 50 students audition.  You all did such a great job – we are so proud of your hard work.  It was difficult for us to cut any of you, but we had to narrow the finalists down to 15 acts to fit our assembly schedule.  You can pick up your CD from Ms. Swallow.

FINALISTS:  you are required to attend the after school rehearsal TOMORROW, Wednesday, April 17, after school.  Meet in the auditorium, sitting in the first three rows in the center section.  We will discuss the expectations for the assembly, do a cue-to-cue run-through with the tech, and then run the entire show.  If we all act in a professional manner, we can be done in one hour.  Be sure to talk to your 1st and 2nd period teachers about missing their class on Thursday.  THANKS!!
